Друг у меня есть. Хотел, чтобы было все легально, но даже он понимал, что выложить 300 баксов за софт - это круто. Решил он спросить у производителя про скидки. И вот, что получил в ответ.

No we don't have a discount for Russia. In fact we have no

discounts for any country.

Here is the answer from my boss to your question about getting our

software at a special "Russia" discount:

"We regularly get requests from users to give a special discount, so the

question is very common for us. Typically, users who consider

themselves students ask for discounts because they will not be able to

use the software as extensively as a professional would, whereas

professionals ask for discounts because they feel they will promote our

product by exposing their clients to it.

Since almost all our users are either students or professionals, we

cannot make exceptions or we would have to give discounts to almost

everyone.

Therefore, for many years, our policy has been to NOT give discounts on

our products, except when we can pass on savings from our end.

For example, we offer a discount when someone orders multiples products

at once, which is saving us time and expense in order fulfillment and

technical support. Or we offer discounts when a group of people orders

at once, as order fulfillment again becomes much more efficient for us.

Truthfully, we can tell you (or anyone else) we have not given other

customers a discount, other than for those reasons. As soon as we make

even one exception, we can no longer say that...and keep it simple.

In some countries it is very common to ask for a discount, and for a

business to offer one. As a result, there is a widespread practice of

marking up prices to allow that margin for discounts. At the end,

everyone wastes time to go through the process of negotiation. For a

specialized product such as ours, our software is already inexpensive,

and "pre-discounted" you could say.

In fact, we have not raised our prices for the last 15 years, yet the

value of the product has increased manifold through adding many features

over the years. While many companies raise prices on products that

represent the same service over time, we have raised the service while

keeping the same prices.

The slowed down economy is hitting us like it hits anyone else. Rather

than cutting on technical support by limiting phone support or

outsourcing the support to India or Indonesia (as many other companies

do these days), we still offer the same, local, toll free phone support

we always have. Our product is a niche product, and we have a small

user base to make this work at all. It has been a labor of love, and as

much as we have enjoyed serving the community providing these tools, we

also depend on the community to help us keep this up by paying the fair

price for these products."

So there you have the founder's view on offering discounts. It's

probably not what you wanted to hear, but I hope you'll appreciate his

commitment to the Vedic Astrology community and will vote (with your

wallet) for Geovision software anyway.

Ответ, конечно, поражает. Особенно ожидание, что он все равно будет "голосовать за их софт своим кошельком" :) Наивные и недальновидные люди.

Лучше с этими ребятами не связываться, многие купили программу, активировали, а через некоторое время после переустановки Windows все слетело и второго кода у них уже не допросишься :-( Вот так деньги и на ветер, на письма не отвечают.
